THE PETERSENS

Let me preface this blog with saying that we (and everyone else, for that matter) were expecting that our little child would be a girl.  BUT, God had has own plans in mind!  Yes, we are having another little boy.  It is absolutely confirmed and we will post ultrasound pictures a little later this week.  After the shock of our baby NOT being a girl, we were ecstatic to hear that Joshua Lee was going to have a little brother.  His name will be Caleb Benjamin Petersen.  Of course, we will also give him a Cambodian middle name, but that has not been decided yet.  We will let you know!

The baby looks strong and healthy.  Good, strong heartbeat.  10 fingers and 10 toes.  We saw it all.  But, we do have a prayer request.  The doctor saw on the ultrasound that I have a condition called "placenta previa."  This is a condition where the placenta lies very low in the uterus.  Mine is not bleeding, but the doctor has commanded me to take it easy and not lift anything for the next two weeks.  On July 1st, I will go in for another ultrasound. If the placenta previa has not resolved by then, other steps may need to be taken.  So, please pray that God would make that placenta travel right back to where it’s supposed to be!  And, if that doesn’t happen to be the case, our God is still a good God.
