Sicky Icky
What an interesting week we’ve had. On Monday, the first of our many guests this summer arrived, my Dad being among then. Unfortunately, he brought with him a nasty virus of some sort. Before we knew it, on Tuesday night my brother got sick. He was puking everywhere. On Wednesday, we took him to UrgentCare and the ER because he wasn’t keeping any liquids in. On Thursday, we sent him to my sister’s, out of fear that he would give Joshua Lee and me (since I’m preggy) the awful virus. On Friday, my cousin Philip came down with the virus. We stayed up with him until almost 3 AM this morning cleaning and comforting. Today, Joshua Lee, my sister and I came down with it. So, be warned, everyone. Stay clear of us! Methinks that this virus is highly contagious. What do you think? Though this week has not turned out the way we expected it to be (especially since it was Ben’s birthday and our wedding anniversary this week), we still have much to be thankful for. I can at least share some of the joys I have had amidst the puking and diarrhea everyone has had…
One, my husband. He has been so persevering and patient, cleaning up and disinfecting everything. He refused to let me help because he wanted to prevent as much as possible my getting sick.
Two, Joshua Lee’s smile and good-naturedness. He still makes everyone laugh and smile, despite how sick they are.
Three, Jesus. He has granted us much mercy and much patience! This week has been pretty hard to get through and I don’t know how we could have done it without Him, especially with the very, very little sleep Ben and I have been getting.
Four, the experience. I guess this is what it would be like to have a family of 2-3 sick kids! We are being trained for being parents of more than one.
Needless to say, we will not be at church tomorrow, as we are so contagious and I imagine I will be spending most of my night hanging over the toilet bowl. We really would appreciate all your prayers! Pray that I would get better soon…I have guests to feed and a big research paper to write, amongst many other things such as doctor appointments and whatnot. If anyone wants to bring over a big pot of chicken noodle soup for our little sick household, we would be most grateful! I think we’d give you a million dollars…
