Why?
For the past few months, my JL has been a major question-asker.
“Mommy, why are you putting the dishes away?”
“Mommy, why are you putting the dishes away in that cabinet?”
“Mommy, why are you doing that now?”
“Mommy, why does Caleb have to take a nap now?”
The “why” questions are endless and unfortunately, my patience is not. This is a major prayer request of mine right now. Lord, grant me patience!
So, anyway, a couple days ago, I turned around and asked him, “JL, why do you have so many questions?”
His response was: “Because there are so many things that I don’t know!”
Well, if that’s not plainly put, I don’t know what is.

I can relate. My 2 year old is the same way. And, I started reading A Well-Trained Mind last night 9thanks very much for the recommendation!!) I tried what she said to do with little ones and constantly talk to them and tell them what you are doing throughout the day so as to build up their storehouse of knowledge. And at the end of the day you know what I noticed? A lot less questions were being asked and I felt less pestered. of course I felt like my own voice was ringing in my head, but he got the information he wanted/needed and I felt like a good parent giving it to him
I guess I just needed Susan Bauer to remind me of that
