Sewing…A New Hobby

So, what does one do when you’re snowed in in North Carolina over an entire weekend and your hubby has to work overtime and your kids are sweetly napping?  I don’t know if I’ll always resort to this, but during this rare instance, I decided to do a little sewing and mending.  I put a button back on a shirt, I mended a pair of JL’s pajama pants, made myself a nursing cover and sewed a nifty strap for my DSLR.  All in all, it was really fun.  I enjoy when I can create.  I am very new to sewing though, so I will post pictures of my handiwork as well as the blog from which I got the tutorial.  I don’t create on my own yet…maybe one day!

The nursing cover…

The camera strap…

I guess I didn’t think about how to take a picture of the camera strap after putting it back ON MY CAMERA.  Oops.  This is the best view you’re gonna get.

The next sewing project I’m going to tackle next is a birthday present my niece in MN.  I will make sure to post my experience with that soon!  What sewing projects are you currently working on?

Lovely projects! I’ve wanted to make a camera strap… this one looks great. I have not been on that site yet. I always enjoy linking to new craft sites. Currently I am sewing herbal eye pillows, more felt play food, and a quilt for on the couch. This cold MN winter has deemed that necessary :) Keep updating us with your crafitness. I love it!

I want to make one of these for my sister. Her baby is a week old now. Do you really like yours? Did you use it a lot? I never had one with Peter and it seems like it would have been really nice to have.

    You are too kind.

I LOVE mine! I used it a ton because we were always out and about and it was nice to cover up and have a little privacy nursing.

Ok, I’m printing out directions now… and choosing fabric tomorrow. Where did you get boning? and what was it priced like?

    • Veronique Says:
