Balloons…BooBoo’s Bestie

My littlest, whom we have so fondly nicknamed “BooBoo”, has found his first love.  I wish I could tell you it was Jesus.  I wish I could tell you it was me, his dear Mama who loves him so.  No, it is balloons.  All balloons.  Balloons he sees in the grocery store.  Balloons he sees in the sky.  Things that he perceives to be balloons, such as big lightbulbs or round fruits.  This kid loves all things spherical.

Naturally then, his favorite part of the week is going to Harris Teeter.  Because guess what?  They give out free balloons!  When he gets that balloon string in his little hand, there is no letting go.  Here’s a perfect picture to demonstrate that…

My Suffering of the Day

I wanted to try a new recipe today for chile rellenos.  I had snatched up some close-to-spoiled poblano peppers for super cheap at Harris Teeter the other day, so I thought…why not?  Well, now I am thinking…WHY EVER did I try to do such a thing?!?  A step in the recipe calls for you to peel the skin off the peppers and removed the seeds from within.  The part I forgot to read was about wearing gloves.  Yes, gloves.  Because if you don’t, your hands will burn for hours on end and no matter what you do, they will simply continue to burn.  So here I am with my burning hands.  My small suffering for today=a lesson for the rest of you.  Whenever handling hot peppers, PLEASE WEAR GLOVES!

Bird Legs

The other day while I was reading to JL, I commented on how skinny his legs are.  It went something like this…

Me: Joshua Lee, look at your legs!  They are so skinny.  Why are they so skinny?

JL: Because I have a lot of skin.

That’s an interesting response.
